Seiryuu, the Water Dragon

Gong Xi Fat Chai! Happy Lunar New Year all Chinese people! Year of the Dragon it is, my years definitely, based on Chinese zodiac. I do hope i can reign supreme and soar high in the sky this year, just as a dragon does.

Seiryuu the dragon, one of the four major guardian deity in eastern Asia, represent the direction West, the season Spring, and the element water

So, as i have said yesterday, i’ll tell you a bit about me and China. Me and China, are involved in some kind of ‘love hate’ relation. I do hate some part of Chinese culture and even Chinese people, but i won’t laid it here, as it’ll soon become a highly racy post when i do that. In that case, lets talk about some of  my positive traits towards China.

Among all things, Chinese philosophy is one of the best thing i loved. In my opinion, it par that of the ancient Greeks. The Writing of Sun Tzu or Confusius can really take my brain ventures deep in thought, for it’s sheer awesomeness. My favourite is of course ‘Know yourself, and know your Enemy, then you will gain 100 victories out of 100 battles’

Zhuge Liang, another great mind in ancient China during the three kingdoms era

Ah, talk about Three Kingdoms, i really really absorbed into this portion of History. Heck, i think i have more knowledge of the Three Kingdoms, compared to the history of my local kingdom. I don’t know how Sriwijaya destroyed, i don’t know the number of battles Gajah Mada fought, I don’t know who killed who in that era, or who reign the most, i really don’t know much about it. But i have confidence concerning Wei, Wu, And my Favourite Shu. I know that Guanyu was Killed at the battle of Fan Castle thanks to the scheming of Lu Xun and Cao Ren, i know that Zhang Fei roar and defending Chang Ban Bridge by himself, i know that Cao Cao and Yuan Shao fought their decisive battle in Guan Du, and many more. I’m a bit ashamed actually, for not knowing the history of my own country..hehe..but, that’s just how it is..maybe because there aren’t any game publisher that willing to adapt Indonesian Kingdoms era into a video Game..

It's all thanks to these guys

In a matter of philosophy, chinese education system and work ethos are also one to mention. During my elementary Grade, i took an english lesson in a Christian Scholl, which is full of Chinese. And the strict rules are really grow to my liking, it’s in a whole different level compared to the super lazy and slacking Indonesian school. No wonder most of scientific Olympic medal holder from Indonesia are Chinese, and most of the advanced student in information and technology are Chinese. And indonesia also have a talented 8 year old pianist with a great international reputation, which is Chinese, a legendary Shuttle Cock player, which is Chinese, many CEO of huge companies which are Chinese, and many more. This is heavily caused by two thing that i mentioned above, which most Indonesian still lack of.

For food, there’s no doubt, i, and maybe all of you love Chinese Food. Noodle and meat ball are just some among many. no matter where you live, you’ll found chinese food for sure i think. Maybe even polar bear eat it…

What’s more?…ah, of coure, ican love China just for this sole reason, Zhang Xinyu:

Well, that’s about it. China’s have a portion in my heart, though it’s nowhere near my Japanese devotion. I even studied Mandarin for six months, and planning to continue it later..

Happy New Year?

As much as i denied it, it took me 3 weeks to write my first post in 2012…pretty lacking if i may say..To make it worse, there’s no single reason that good enough to justify this tremendous laziness…Lets just hope that i can do this year, in terms of blogging..^_^

So for today, as late as it is, please allow me to say, Happy New Year!! This is the year 2012, the year predicted by Mayan to be the end of civilization, well, as much as i excited, for me, the most anticipated things to be happen in 2012 is the Solar Storm…

That aside, Happy Chinese New Year too to all my beloved Chinese friend and Chinese reader out there (if there’s any)..I think i’m gonna post about Chinese people tomorrow, so stay tuned..hehe

And one more thing, Happy 23rd birthday for my belle mademoiselle Annisa Trinezia, I hope my text message approached you that night, cause you didn’t text back. All the best wishes for you! and talking about her, she recently posted something that really struck me..this is what she said:

I aint a risk taker. I’m a coward. A follower, not a pioneer. Observe much. Counting benefits. Take action after others. Afraid of high, afraid of failure. So I just sit on my bed, watching drama series. And this is what I get.

A couple hundred days ago, Benjamin Franklin shared with the world secret of his success, “Never leave that till tomorrow,” he said, “what you can do today”. This is the man who discovered electricity. You’d think more of us would listen to what he had to say. I don’t know why we put things off, but if i had to guess, I’d say it has a lot to do with fear. Fear of failure, fear of pain, fear of rejection. Sometimes, the fear is just making a decision, because what if you wrong? What if you’re making a mistake you can’t undo?

Anyway, we have to make our own mistakes. We have to learn our own lessons. We have to sweep today’s possibility under tomorrow’s rug until we cant anymore, until we finally understand for ourselves what Benjamin Franklin meant. That knowing is better than wondering. That waking is better than sleeping.

Then I remember of every chance that I missed, cause of fear. I remember of regrets, most are more painful than failure. And how mistakes that I did are the best lessons so far. Maybe I should listen Benjamin Franklin more, his face is in every 100 bucks US there. So now I sit, and continue watching Grey’s, maybe til I fall asleep.

And that even the biggest failure, even the worst, most intractable mistake, beats the hell out of never trying.

Fuaaah, I see me in you Nyezz, i think i feel exactly what you felt..maybe..hehe

For my dearest reader out there, do visit her page, though she’s lazier than me, she posted much more useful thing than Gabichon..hwahahah..you can find it at my blogroll at the sidebar..

That being said, let’s do better this year, have no fear, do what you wanna do, as Steve Job have said, “in the morning, look at yourself in the mirror, and ask :if this is my last day, is this the thing that i wanna do?”

Do what you want, how you want, wherever you want, and never let yourself drown into the dangerous question of “what if”. Don’t be hindered by the possible consequences, as you can deal about it later. Gabichon!!!

Slacking Off

Hello there, long time no see…it’s been a while since i last posted my last post (how’s that sound for a rhyme?) In fact, this is my first time turning on (in electrical term, not the sexual ones) Fuka in a week!! Thanks to Hyun…. For those who got a bit lost in translation, this is Fuka:

Yes, an HP Netbook

And this is Hyun, the highlight of the week, the one that consume 70% of my time this past week (i spent the other 30% to sleep)

A brand new Playstation 3!!! Yes, the promised day has arrived, i Finally got my hands on a PS3, which my sister bought. As a long awaited gizmo, she really live up the expectation. I already finished Homefront, and now working on Battlefield 3, and Dynasty Warrior 7. I can’t wait to get myself a Final Fantasy XIII, Metal Gear 4, Devil May Cry 4, Infamous, and many more, trust me, the list is growing…

There, i’ve kind of “justifed” my long absence in blogging world. if i’m not plaing with Hyun, which i rarely did, i’ll be stuck at doing my entry for the Hobbylink Japan Sci-fi Contest 2012, The Date Masamune Gundam..I’m making a really slow progress thanks to Hyun..T_T

It’s only a few more days until 2012, and despite i joined the ‘post a day 2011′ campaign, my total post this year is nowhere near 365, though it’s much-much better than the previous 3 years combined. I think i’m going to make up for it, and for the last 4 days of 2011, i’ll post more than 1 post in a day, for now, it’s quantity over quality i think, Hahahahahaha…Keep Lurking guys!!

Comeback Stage

It’s been a while since we last saw an update from our hero’s journey in the Gabichon. The main reason for the hiatus was that he fully occupied with his side quest to revived his first model Kit, the NG 1/100 MBF-pO5LM Gundam Astray Mirage Frame (yes, he didn’t spent his time wisely, to look for a JOB for instance).

But, he’s quite satisfied with the results anyway. Thanks to this build, his modelling (not a catwalk model, but a model kit modelling) skill has increased. First, let’s take a look at the transformation of the kit itself.

This is how a 1/100 Mirage Frame appeared out of the box:

He realized that there aren’t many review about this kit, so let him take the initiative. “This kit have the pseudo inner frame similar to the red frame and his companion, thus it’ll have all the flexibility and poseability like it’s predecessor, just like your newer NG. This is basically a Red Frame, painted in a different colour scheme, and some extra parts and armament. Hence, you still can build a red frame (given you have the willingness to paint it later) from this kit. Why i encourage you to get this kit instead of red frame is you’ll get extra armaments, such as the A sword, B sword, and a cooler head part. One of the main cons about this kit is the ‘kinky’ colour scheme..hehehehe

Continue with the story, a while after this kit stand in his desk, he decided to change the colour scheme that no one else did, then came the Uchiha Frame (some of you may have read it here)

After analyzing it for a few weeks, the kits look a bit flat and lack of awesomeness…so he decided to underwent another paint job that give birth to Astray Enforcer:

and, after a few months, he have made up his mind, that he won’t change the colour scheme of his Bandai kit, except for detailing. So, after a tiring 3 weeks of paint removal and re painting efforts, this is the Mirage Frame as of it now:

and that’s it.This kit will always have a special place, for it’s his first kit that took him deep into the world of Plamo…i’ll see you later in another story from the Gabichon!!

Driving License

Bulan ini, tepat setahun sejak jagoan kita, Bamby memperoleh surat izin mengemudinya…tapi selama setaun ini, hanya 5 kali dia berhasil membawa Mitsuru (mobil Avanza hitam miliknya) keluar dari rumah…apa yang sebenarnya terjadi? apakah dia gagal menguasai pengendalian Mitsuru? Apakah dia terkena mantra Confundus?

This is the Car??

Inilah  kronologis yang sebenarnya terjadi:

Minggu2 awal di bulan November 2010: Bamby mengambil kursus mengemudi kilat slama 2 hari: Driving Skill :40, Driving Confidence: 50

Beberapa hari kemudian, dia memperoleh SIM yang didapat melalui Calo: Driving Skill : 40. Driving Confidence meningkat: 70

The Only Thing Constant, is Change Itself…

Pertama Tema, dulu temen saya, sebut saja namanya Indri Ikhwadani Nasution (mungkin nama sebenarnya) pernah bilang, “hidup itu kaya the sims, harus sering bersosialisasi sama temen, kalo engga poinnya bisa berkurang, terus malah hubungan persahabatannya turun level”…Well, ya iya lah Dori, the sims kan emang simulasi dari kehidupan real life!! hahahaha

So, sampai sejauh mana kira2 hal ini akan bertahan, we’ll see…

Buono!

So, after two failed attempts, i finally succeeded in producing one of my favourite dish, Carbonara Pasta!! (in this case, Macaroni Carbonara)

Though lacking the main ingredients, i managed too pull this out by substituting smoked beef with sausage, and butter with margarine…

and, after 30 minutes dirtying my kitchen, here is the dish:

Bon Appetite!

Giving in to temptation….

Once upon a time, Gareth Gates said,

“I’ve been leaving you down….girl i know i’ve been such a fool….giving in to temptation…i should’ve let it go…”

“It can happen to anyone of us..anyone you think of..anyone can fall..anyone can hurt someone they love….heart will break..cause i made a stupid mistake”…

Well, this is exactly the thing that happened to me now…..i’ve eaten the Eden Apple…just like eve….i’ve surrendered to the KOREAN WAVE!!!

I’m disappointed myself..as an avid Japanese Culture fan, it never crossed my mind that i would be this disoriented….this last three weeks was spent by watching all type of Korean entertainment product…variety show, reality show, girlbands, and many more….

The korean Wave has started influencing me since 4 years ago, mainly by Wonder Girls..but at that time, I’ve been successfully repent all offer they gave…

By living in Indonesia, i was quite confused, why Japanese culture didn’t spread as well as the Korean did, considering that basically they offered a same thing…I don’t understand why Japanese boy band have less fame than their Korean counterpart…and why Japanese dorama didn’t aired as much as the korean ones…

Maybe i’t because the costume? or the “non-conservative” story, Japanese products seem to gained lessfortune than Korean Sad dorama, and cool boyband…

Nevertheless, all those time, i managed to defend myself against the endless Hangeuk Storm…But just recently, things changed…

Just like fate calls, one day i was listening to my sister I pod..and among all those J rocks Video, there’s a single video clip with a Hangeul title…it shows 5 girl with a cute costume, and a cute dance, singing an easy listening song….after googling it based on the lyrics i heard, i discovered that they were Girl’s Day, performing Twinkle Twinkle

After listening to it for like 50 times, i finally remembering my old Guilty pleasure, SNSD, or Girls Generation, or i prefer their Japanese version, Shoujo Jidai…I guess, unless you living under a rock, like Pattrick did, you must already know this 9 super girls…

To be honest i already have eyes for Seo Hyun a loooong time ago…She was ranked 2 after Sasaki Nozomi in my heart list, but, after watching her Reality show ‘We Got Married”, she has topple No-chan into second place…

Seo Joo hyun..youngest member of Shoujou Jidai

Yes, she’s the same girl that always smile in this site background…

And a few days after that, my cousin introduce me to a hilarious amazingly funny show called Running Man…i suggest you to watch it for yourself…

And thats a brief story about ho i was infected with this addictive pop culture…

Fortunately, i still maintain my sanity, and Japan still reign as number 1 in all my life vein…thanks to many incredible things that only Japan possessed, Gundam, Saori Hara, Takako Kitahara, Gravure Idol, Arashi, Kamen Rider, Doraemon, Takoyaki, and maaaany more…NIPPON!!!!

When are you happiest?

When i was in the middle of a boss battle, with one character standing out of a party of 3, with a critical health, and a critical decision, where i have to choose between heal the character for a prolonged moves but with a chance of dying because of the boss special moves, or striking my final blow, which will used up all my MP, gambling it in a one hit final blow, while not knowing how much HP the boss have left. If my final blow succeed, that’s my happiest moment….
